the origin Story
The Concept
I was a 17 year old wannabe-preneur who found spent many hours playing with makeup – when my mum gifted me a quirky little “Make Your Own Makeup” kit.
Although it was a small kit consisting of some premade lipstick base, a few glittery mica powders and some adorably small utensils. As an art student AND someone whos makeup shades never really matched, the freedom of being able to make my own makeup blew-my-mind.
Following that revolutionary moment, I spent countless months researching everything I could about making makeup.
And I mean *everything*
I researched every ingredient used in my makeup products and the difference between “modern” and mineral makeup. Being a little horrified by what I has discovered, which lead me into a deep dive of researching organic cosmetics and common minerals used in mineral makeup.
And before too long my stash of makeup products, turned into a hoard of ingredients. My childhood bedroom quickly turned into a supply store of oils, raw butters, pure pigments, powdered minerals and all sorts of other gorgeous, natural ingredients
The Development
Although my adolescent self quickly discovered, having the idea , of an idea for a business, doesn’t so easily equate to actually having a business. And so I spent an accumulation of 2 – 3 years developing the concept
Within this time I –

Researched How To Market A Business
Tried my hand at some photography
Developed some branding concepts
Designed some packaging
Researched packaging
& Everything else that comes with developing a business by yourself

The Result
To be honest, at this stage Flirtsy is less of a business and more of a love child of my personality. It’s the ultimate representation of everything I love; art, website development, design, photography, writing, researching and
making makeup !
Since the time Flirtsy was born and now, there have been quite a few house moves, a puppy, a few businesses and even more personal growth milestone achievements – but I am SO excited to -finally- be able to share what I love with an audience
